We all have our vices, our habits. Things we know that we shouldn’t necessarily be doing that aren’t healthy or simply don’t blend with who we want to be. Even though we know some of the things we should change, motivation is harder to come by.
Steps to consider when thinking about making changes
Want it
Do you really want to change? What is the reason for this change? Is it for you, or someone else? Think long and hard about why you want to change, because the best intentions will mean nothing if your motivation isn’t strong and true.
Plan ahead
Knowing what success looks like for you, and outlining a timeline which includes small and large goals can help you to stay on track.
Manage relapse
What will be your steps if you do relapse? Plan ahead, be prepared and ultimately be kind to yourself so you can get back up, dust yourself off, and keep on changing.
Be patient
You’ve got this: it will take some time.
