Do:
- Stay calm.
- Stay on the phone with the person.
- Find out where the person is and whether anyone else is there.
If the person’s life is in danger:
- Call 000 and explain to the operator that someone is suicidal.
- Request a welfare check on behalf of the suicidal person.
If the person’s life is not in danger:
- Focus on what will keep them safe for right now.
- Try to make a safety plan with the person.
